A group trip needs a settled weekend before anyone books flights or a place to stay.

Why the weekend comes before the booking
Someone has to book the cabin, the flights, or the car, and they can't until the weekend is settled. The longer that takes, the fewer places are left and the more the flights cost. A poll gets the group to a weekend in one round, before anyone has to hold a reservation on a guess.
Which weekends to offer
- Offer the Friday for a Friday-to-Sunday trip. One date per weekend keeps the tally readable. Say in the description whether it's two nights or three.
- Go two or three months out. Far enough that people can still move things, close enough that they know what they're doing.
- Include one weekend you'd rather not. If it's the only one everyone can make, better to know now than after the good weekends fall through.
Reading a Maybe
A weekend with five Works and no Maybes is booked. A weekend with three Works and two Maybes is a conversation. Ask the two before you put a deposit down, or offer another weekend and run it again. The comment box is where "I could make it if we leave Saturday" turns up.
What the group sees
The event name, the weekends on offer, and Works, Maybe or Can't for each. After they vote, they see everyone else's answers, so the group can already tell which weekend is winning. Nobody needs an account, and the person who books can see the whole picture on one page.
Locking in the weekend
When a weekend has everyone, lock it in. The link shows the decided date to anyone who opens it. Then book it. On Autopilot, we email the group the confirmation, so the weekend is in everyone's inbox and not just in the chat.
