Connect an AI assistant

Your assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, or any app that supports MCP connectors — can create polls, add guests and dates, and read how a poll is going, on your account. It connects at https://whenworksforyou.com/mcp using the standard connector sign-in (OAuth), so you approve it once on our site.

Connecting

1. In your assistant's connectors or apps settings, add a custom connector at https://whenworksforyou.com/mcp — or, once we're listed there, pick When Works For You from its directory.
2. If you're not already signed in, you're sent to our site to sign in.
3. A consent screen names the assistant and lists exactly what it's asking to do.
4. Choose whether it can also send email to your guests.
5. You're sent back to your assistant, connected.

What it can do, and what it costs

• Read your polls, guests and contacts. Who has answered, who hasn't, and which date is leading.
• Draft a poll, and add dates and guests. This emails nobody and spends nothing.
• Send, if you've given it permission. It can then send invites, nudges and the confirmation. A poll with a guest list spends one credit, exactly as one made on the site does.
• On the free plan, it can only make classic polls — the free plan never sends mail, on the site or through an assistant.
• Without send permission, every poll it drafts lands on your drafts page as a link you review and send yourself — the same as a poll started by forwarding a thread by email.

What it can't do

• See or change anything for your guests. Guests never sign in — they keep voting by link and by replying to email, exactly as before.
• Act as an administrator on the account.
• Do anything you didn't approve on the consent screen.

Disconnecting

In your assistant's connector settings, remove the connection.

If a guest's own assistant reads the invite

The invite and the poll page carry the dates in a machine-readable form, so an assistant can answer precisely. A reply written by an assistant is read the same way as one written by hand.
