Your assistant — Claude, ChatGPT, or any app that supports MCP connectors — can create and edit polls, manage their dates and guests, and read how a poll is going, on your account. It connects at https://whenworksforyou.com/mcp. Answering someone else's poll needs no account at all; the first time your assistant does something on your own account, it asks you to sign in with the standard connector sign-in (OAuth), so you approve it once on our site.
Connecting
- In your assistant's connectors or apps settings, add a custom connector at https://whenworksforyou.com/mcp — or, once we're listed there, pick When Works For You from its directory.
- If you're not already signed in, you're sent to our site to sign in.
- A consent screen names the assistant and lists exactly what it's asking to do.
- Choose whether it can also send email to your guests.
- You're sent back to your assistant, connected.
What it can do, and what it costs
- Read your polls, guests and contacts. Who has answered, who hasn't, and which date is leading.
- Answer anyone's poll, without signing in. Paste a poll link and say when you're free; your assistant reads the dates and answers for you. Anyone can do this, with or without an account.
- Draft a poll, and add dates and guests. A draft emails nobody and spends nothing. Adding a guest to an autopilot poll that's already out sends that person their invite, and needs the send permission.
- Edit a poll or a draft the way you would on the site. Change the title or description, put a time or a daypart on a date, remove a date, correct or remove a guest, discard a draft, archive or restore a poll. None of that mails anyone, with two exceptions that need the send permission: correcting a guest's address on a poll that's already out sends that one person their invite, and restoring an archived autopilot poll restarts its reminders to guests who haven't answered.
- Send, if you've given it permission. It can then send invites and the confirmation. A poll with a guest list spends one credit, exactly as one made on the site does.
- On the free plan, it can only make classic polls — the free plan never sends mail, on the site or through an assistant. A classic poll asks about days, or a morning, afternoon or evening, and has no guest list: anyone with the link votes. A guest list or an exact time makes it an autopilot event, so your assistant is told to make one of those instead rather than quietly adding either to a share-link poll.
- Without send permission, every poll it drafts lands on your drafts page as a link you review and send yourself — the same as a poll started by forwarding a thread by email.
What it can't do
- See or change anything for your guests. Guests never sign in — they keep voting by link and by replying to email, exactly as before.
- Act as an administrator on the account.
- Do anything you didn't approve on the consent screen.
Disconnecting
Open your account page and find Connected assistants. Choose Disconnect next to the assistant and confirm: it is signed out immediately, and has to be connected again from the assistant if you change your mind. Removing the connector inside the assistant on its own doesn't revoke it on our side, so do it here too. Every assistant that still has access is listed there; one that isn't listed has none.
If a guest's own assistant reads the invite
The invite and the poll page carry the dates in a machine-readable form, so an assistant can answer precisely. A reply written by an assistant is read the same way as one written by hand. A guest who adds When Works For You to their own assistant can answer straight from the poll link, with no account: the connector's poll tools need no sign-in, and it asks them to sign in only if they go on to organize something themselves.
